ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – The Alaska Democratic Party (ADP) today announced the endorsements of U.S. Senate candidate Pat Chesbro and U.S. Congressional candidate Mary Peltola.
“We are proud of these endorsements,” said Lindsay Kavanaugh, Executive Director of ADP. “With reproductive freedom under attack across the country like never before, it is imperative to have strong women such as Pat and Mary standing their ground defending the rights of Alaskans from an unpopular, hostile and renegade Supreme Court and from GOP extremists who have signaled that a federal abortion ban is now on the table.”
“Democrats work to defend the environment, fully finance public schools, provide healthcare access, protect our most vulnerable citizens, and advocate for workers,” said Mike Wenstrup, Chair of the Alaska Democratic Party. “As Alaska’s representatives in the U.S. Senate and Congress, Pat and Mary will defend the rights of all Alaskans, work diligently to provide real opportunity for this and future generations, and stand as examples of leadership and reason in the U.S. Capitol.”
The special general election to temporarily fill Alaska’s vacant congressional seat will take place on August 16, 2022 along with the regular primary election. The general election will occur on November 8, 2022.
