“I’ve been doing this 15 years. In my opinion, I’ve not seen the economic concern worse than it is now.” – Matt Larkin, Researcher
New reporting shows that Alaskans’ confidence in the economy is near an all-time low, and two-thirds of Alaskans disapprove of the direction of the economy as they continue to face punishing price hikes thanks to Dan Sullivan.
“While Self-Serving Sullivan dismisses Alaskans’ cost of living concerns and enriches himself in DC, people here are paying $5 a gallon for gas and watching grocery prices shoot up thanks to Sullivan’s price-hiking agenda,” said Alaska Democratic Party Chair Eric Croft. “Sullivan’s report card is here, and it couldn’t be worse. Alaskans are going to bring him back to reality when they kick him out of his seat this November.”
The report details Alaskans’ frustrations with “shockingly expensive” prices. Alaskans have “near-record negative views” of the economy, and two-thirds say that Alaska is “on the wrong track.” This matches the lived reality Alaskans are facing thanks to Dan Sullivan’s price-hiking agenda: “catastrophic” gas prices, skyrocketing airfare, and soaring healthcare costs.
Meanwhile, Sullivan has brushed off Alaskans’ cost of living concerns. He dismissed Alaskans’ energy prices as mere “externalities” to his campaign, and just a few months ago said the economy was “headed in the right direction.”
