TOMORROW: Alaskans Will Vote Out Dan Sullivan For His Self-Enriching, Self-Dealing Record

Sullivan has tripled his wealth while in the Senate through his investment in RPM International

As Alaskans prepare to vote out Dan Sullivan tomorrow and elect Mary Peltola to the U.S. Senate to fight for fish, family, and freedom – Sullivan’s self-enriching, self-dealing record is in the spotlight.

Dan Sullivan has repeatedly used his position in the U.S. Senate to enrich himself and benefit the multibillion-dollar chemical company RPM International, his largest stock holding that is run by his brother.

“After years of Dan Sullivan prioritizing himself and profiting at the expense of Alaskans, we’re ready for a change,” said Alaska Democratic Party Chair Eric Croft. “Alaskans are suffering through a cost of living crisis he’s created while Sullivan is only worried about his own bottom line and how RPM International’s stock is performing. Alaskans are ready to hold Dan Sullivan accountable at the ballot box tomorrow when they vote him out.”

Read more about Dan Sullivan’s long record of enriching himself and advancing the interests of RPM International:

Data Center Dan: Sullivan is pushing for Alaska data center development while personally profiting from his shares in RPM International, which has reaped major profits from its work building data centers. This is despite Alaskans’ concerns that data centers will lead to a “decline in the quality of life with noise and water pollution,” with some Alaskans worried it “could upend their lives.”

Profiting Off of Tariffs: Sullivan has “been rewarded for the company’s financial success” after RPM International raised costs on customers to respond to Sullivan’s tariffs. Sullivan has repeatedly backed the tariffs that are inflicting financial pain in Alaska.

Making Suspiciously-Timed Stock Trades: Dan Sullivan made several suspiciously timed stock trades in RPM International as a U.S. Senator, with some trades following closed-door meetings, including “briefings from federal health officials on COVID-19, before the full economic impact of the pandemic became clear to the public.”

Securing Tens of Millions in Tax Breaks: Dan Sullivan championed the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” (OBBBA) and the 2017 tax bill, which gave tens of millions of dollars in tax breaks to RPM International, benefiting Sullivan’s own bottom line.

Trying to Roll Back PFA Regulations: Dan Sullivan has “quietly backed efforts to rollback protections against forever chemicals,” which is particularly notable given that RPM International has faced legal challenges over its use of cancer-causing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, known as PFAS.
