Tell the Truth Day Reminder: Sullivan Keeps Lying to Alaskans

On Tell the Truth Day, Alaskans are struggling with record-high costs of living as Dan Sullivan continues to deceive them about everything from healthcare cuts to farmed fishing stocks and campaign contributions..

“Over and over again, Self-Serving Sullivan has lied to Alaskans,” said Alaska Democratic Party Chair Eric Croft. “From failing to disclose stock sales in the world’s largest farmed salmon company to misleading Alaskans about his destructive votes in DC, it’s clear he only cares about himself. Alaskans deserve the truth.”

Some of Dan Sullivan’s tall tales:

  • One Big Beautiful Lie: Sullivan said the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) “strengthens health care in Alaska. It doesn’t cut Medicare, doesn’t cut Social Security, does not cut Medicaid. This bill is a home run for our state.” In reality, nearly 10,000 Alaskans have lost Medicaid since the enactment of OBBBA.

  • Farmed Fish Fabrication: Sullivan broke congressional finance law and concealed the truth from Alaskans when he took months to report two stock sales worth up to $65,000 in Mowi – the world’s largest producer of farmed salmon.

  • Breaking Campaign Promise: Sullivan has a nearly two-decade history of misleading Alaskans about his insidious ties to the Pebble Mine project, and he broke his promise to donate Pebble Mine-tied campaign contributions to charity after the explosive 2020 scandal. Even worse, Sullivan is still raking in cash from Pebble executives as they’ve tried to quietly push to resurrect the disastrous copper mine at the headwaters of Bristol Bay — threatening the world’s largest sockeye salmon fishery. Sullivan abruptly cut and ran off a live Q&A during a video meeting after being asked about his broken promise.
