This Tax Day, Alaskans are paying more than ever for healthcare, groceries, and other basic necessities after Dan Sullivan voted again and again to pass costs onto Alaskans: slashing Medicaid, cutting food assistance for veterans, and spiking healthcare premiums – all to pay for tax breaks for billionaires.
“It’s no surprise that Self-Serving Sullivan sold out Alaskans while enriching himself and his special interest billionaire buddies,” said Alaska Democratic Party Chair Eric Croft. “Thanks to Dan Sullivan’s price-hiking agenda, people are getting kicked off their healthcare, veterans are going hungry without food assistance, and families are making impossible choices between paying for food, heat, or healthcare. Alaskans are sick of it, and they’re ready to retire DC Dan in November.”
Sullivan cast the deciding vote to slash $2 billion from Medicaid, despite the fact that more than 200,000 Alaskans rely on Medicaid to receive life-saving healthcare. With that vote, he also authorized deep cuts to food assistance that are making it harder for Alaska veterans to afford groceries. And he voted seven times in as many weeks against extending ACA premium tax credits that tens of thousands of Alaskans relied on to afford their health insurance. (9/30/25, 10/1/25, 10/3/25, 10/6/25, 10/8/25, 10/9/25, 11/10/2).
As he was casting these cost-raising votes that are harming Alaskans, Dan Sullivan was enriching himself, reporting up to $2 million in stock trades and ballooning his personal wealth in office.
While Alaskans are being hit hard thanks to Dan Sullivan’s price-hiking agenda, he’s living the high life at the expense of his constituents.
