As Alaska honors National Police Week, Dan Sullivan’s record of opposing over $12 million in critical law enforcement funding for Alaska is deserving of renewed scrutiny.
“While our local law enforcement and first responders are stretching resources to keep our communities safe, Self-Serving Sullivan has repeatedly voted against the funding they need,” said Alaska Democratic Party Chair Eric Croft. “Sullivan continues enriching himself and doling out tax breaks for billionaires, all while putting Alaska last.”
Alaska’s law enforcement has long been chronically underfunded, fueling a public safety crisis across many communities. Yet Self-Serving Sullivan has repeatedly voted against funding for Alaska law enforcement — all while carving out massive tax breaks for billionaires and enriching himself.
See for yourself: Self-Serving Sullivan’s record of voting against funding for Alaska law enforcement:
Voted against more than $1.6 million in federal funding for Alaska law enforcement, $4 million for the Anchorage Police Department, and $1 million for statewide police.
Voted against more than $1.5 million in federal funding for Alaska law enforcement and almost $600,000 for the Anchorage Police Department.
Voted against funding federal programs that provided more than $1.4 million for Alaska law enforcement.
