ICYMI: Sullivan Fails To Secure Critical Disaster Relief Funding For Alaskans

Putting his failed leadership on full display yet again, Dan Sullivan has failed to secure the full federal recovery funding needed to rebuild Alaska communities after Typhoon Halong devastated the western part of the state and triggered the “state’s largest mass evacuation of residents from their homes.

With Sullivan’s failure, Alaskans are now on the hook for millions of dollars for disaster recovery at a time when the cost of living is higher than ever.

“After months of empty promises and cheap talk, Dan Sullivan has failed to secure crucial federal funds that Alaska needs to fully recover from the devastation of Typhoon Halong,” said Alaska Democratic Party Chair Eric Croft. “ It’s shameful that Sullivan has spent over a decade in the U.S. Senate, growing richer, instead of standing up and fighting for Alaskans. Unlike Dan Sullivan, Alaskans show up – in November, we’ll show up at the ballot box and replace him with someone who fights for us.”

Sullivan’s failure to deliver full recovery funds for Alaska comes after Sullivan backed DOGE cuts including to FEMA disaster relief funding and voted against funding for public media — even as tsunami warnings were being broadcast on air.
