While Dan Sullivan claims to support truck drivers this National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, the price-hiking war in Iran he’s voted for 12 times is driving up the cost of diesel that drivers rely on to fill up their trucks to $6.62 across Alaska.
“The only thing Dan Sullivan is appreciating this week is that he’s a multimillionaire who will never have to worry about the cost of diesel,” said Alaska Democratic Party Chair Eric Croft. “Dan Sullivan claims to support Alaskans, but has continuously voted for the war that is spiking costs sky high and making it harder for everyone to get by, including Alaska truckers who are bearing the brunt of these prices. Sullivan only cares about his own self-interest, and Alaskans are paying the price.”
One Alaska driver said, “it’s putting a strain on my family and all of our expenses,” and this strain can be even more severe for business owners. Sullivan has not commented on the issue or its effects on Alaskans since March – though he has sent fundraising emails begging for gas money.
