Three Alaska rural radio stations rank amongst the top 10 stations slashed nationwide. Rural Alaskans know that public radio isn’t a luxury. It’s a lifeline. In remote villages and coastal towns, it can be the only source of emergency alerts, weather warnings, and news.
Cutting radio will put lives at-risk and cut rural communities further off from the rest of Alaska. When forced to choose between wealthy politicians and the people of Alaska, Nick and Dan will always choose the politicians.
The message is clear: Nick and Dan do not represent the best interests of rural Alaskans.
