FISH FACT: Dan Sullivan Listens to Lower 48 Factory Trawlers Instead of Alaska Fishermen

Share This Post:

Today at the Kodiak Fisheries Debate, Alaskans were reminded that Dan Sullivan has taken hundreds of thousands of dollars from out-of-state factory trawlers based in the Lower 48 – and he’s sitting quietly on the sidelines as Alaska subsistence, sport, and commercial fishermen struggle under trawling-tied fishing restrictions across Alaska.

FISH FACT: Sullivan’s campaign is fueled by big out-of-state trawl donations to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars, and Alaskan fishermen are being left on the hook.

FISH FACT: Sullivan has failed to act to curb the harmful practices of his Lower 48 trawl donors, including one of his top donors, Seattle-based Trident Seafoods, who was fined millions of dollars after repeatedly engaging in practices that harmed Alaska’s sea life
