ANCHORAGE – As Alaskans face historically high prices at the pump this week, with grocery and ammunition costs expected to soar as a byproduct, Dan Sullivan is standing by once again as Alaskans’ budgets are squeezed even more because of his spineless refusal to fight for our state.
“Alaskans are already paying skyrocketing health care premiums and grocery bills because of Dan Sullivan’s price-hiking agenda, and now we’re paying $5 for a gallon of gas,” said Alaska Democratic Party Chair Eric Croft. “While Self-Serving Sullivan’s stock portfolio has grown, Alaskans have been forced to stretch their budgets even further because he’s left Alaska behind. Sullivan’s pattern is clear: vote to pad his own bank account while Alaskans foot the bill.”
Dan Sullivan’s complete inaction on lowering prices aligns perfectly with his long record of shifting costs onto Alaskans. He repeatedly voted against over $100 million in Essential Air Service funding, which allows rural Alaskans to access health care, groceries, and basic needs.
Alaska already pays some of the highest prices in the nation, and Alaskans rely on air travel as a lifeline to essential goods and services. While fuel prices climb and that lifeline frays, Dan Sullivan’s loyalties remain with his special interest backers, not with the people he was elected to represent.
