Today, as Alaskans continue to struggle with a cost of living crisis, Dan Sullivan doubled down on his support for the price-hiking war in Iran that is continuing to send gas prices sky-high, casting his 13th vote to continue the war.

“Instead of doing something to address the affordability crisis he’s created for Alaskans, Dan Sullivan once again voted for sky-high gas prices for the foreseeable future,” said Alaska Democratic Party Chair Eric Croft. “It is completely unconscionable that at a time when Alaskans are being crushed by the price of fuel and diesel, Sullivan has ignored their struggles over and over, repeatedly voting to continue the war that is costing Alaskans more every day. We need a senator who will actually fight for Alaskans, not himself and his stock portfolio. We look forward to holding Dan Sullivan accountable for this vote when we fire him in 40 days.”

The Sullivan-backed war has skyrocketed gas prices for Alaskans, driving up the price of fuel, goods, and airfare in tow. Recent estimates showed that gas prices “could rise between 20 and 50 cents per gallon if the disruption continues” and could even “go up higher than that.” For rural Alaskans, the price-hiking war is causing some of the “highest fuel prices in the nation.”

MS NOW reported that “Sullivan’s patience with high gas prices is notably different from his indignation four years ago” when he repeatedly railed on social media and the Senate floor against Alaska gas prices breaking $5 a gallon. Now, after Dan Sullivan’s continued support for the war in Iran that has sent Alaska gas prices to new record highs, instead of taking action to lower costs, Sullivan has sent fundraising emails begging Alaskans for gas money. 

Dan Sullivan has now voted for the price-hiking war a staggering 13 times (3/4/26, 3/18/26, 3/24/26, 4/15/26, 4/22/26, 5/13/26, 5/19/26, 6/16/26, 6/23/26, 6/24/26, 7/23/26, 7/30/26, 09/24/26).
