Alaska Democratic Party Statement on Dan Sullivan “Palling Around With Sex Offenders” After Taking Campaign Cash From Epstein Associates

Share This Post:

Following breaking new reporting this reveals that Dan Sullivan has maintained a long-standing relationship with an alleged child predator and elected Republican in Alaska, accepting her endorsement and campaigning with her even after she was accused of having a sexual relationship with a minor – Eric Croft, Chair of the Alaska Democratic Party, released the below statement:

“Dan Sullivan’s unapologetic association with an alleged child predator is disgusting, especially after voting against releasing the Jeffrey Epstein files and taking money from ultra-wealthy donors who were Epstein’s associates. Too many politicians in DC protect the rich and powerful and enable their corruption – and Dan Sullivan is one of them. Alaskans will remember this blatant disregard for survivors at the ballot box on Tuesday when they vote Dan Sullivan out.”

Sullivan also posted a photo to social media posing next to a registered sex offender who was convicted of possession of child pornography, then quickly deleted the photo to cover his tracks.

This follows Sullivan’s vote to block the release of the Epstein files, taking campaign cash from Epstein associates, and voting to confirm Todd Blanche despite pleas from survivors, making “his palling around with sex offenders especially relevant and concerning with one week to go until the midterm election.”

Meidas Touch: Dan Sullivan Maintained Long-Standing Political Alliance With Alleged Pedophile, Even When The Charges Became Public

By: Troy Matthews

  • Alaska Republican Senator Dan Sullivan maintained a long-standing alliance with State Senator Cathy Tilton, despite revelations of her alleged predatory sexual relationship with a 14-year-old boy that started in the 90’s and continued for years. Whatley committed suicide in 2023.

  • Sullivan also recently allowed himself to be photographed standing next to a registered child sex offender at a campaign event, before deleting the photo from social media.

  • The Anchorage Daily News released an investigation earlier this month on Alaska State Senator Cathy Tilton’s alleged decades-long sexual relationship with a man, Luke Whaley, that began when he was 14-years-old and working in her home, while she was in her late 20’s.

  • Details of their relationship were “widely shared” in April of this year on social media, including accusations from Whaley’s siblings. Multiple individuals told the Daily News that they had “long known” about the predatory relationship which was described as an “open secret…for years.”

  • Whaley described himself as having had a “dating or sexual relationship” with Tilton in a 2010 request for a restraining order filed against her husband. Whaley later withdrew the request.

  • The relationship reportedly continued for two decades. Whaley died by suicide at age 47 in February 2023, according to a police report obtained by public records request. On his bed was an open notebook with a suicide note that read in part, “It is meant to end all of the pain I have felt. I own nothing. I have no children, and I am ending my suffering. I am in so much pain. I have been since I was a child.”

  • Sullivan and Tilton have been associates and political allies from at least December 2014 until August 2026, according to social media posts. Multiple posts featured the two together at various political events and small gatherings.

  • In September 2026, after the allegations were public, Cathy Tilton was announced by the Sullivan campaign as a founding member of the “Women for Dan Sullivan” campaign coalition, and was photographed with Sullivan’s wife Julie at a coalition meeting.

  • On September 27, 2023, Sullivan issued a press release in which Cathy Tilton commended Sullivan, saying, “I’m proud to stand with Senator Sullivan.”

  • In September 2020, Sullivan and Tilton attended an event together hosted by Chimo Guns in Wasilla.

  • In December 2014, Tilton posted a photo with Sullivan writing, “What a great holiday reception for Senator-Elect Dan Sullivan,” and “The fellowship with our friends and neighbors was truly memorable.”

  • Sullivan also allowed himself to be photographed last month with a registered sex offender who was convicted of possession of child pornography. Sullivan posted the image to Facebook on September 16th, but took the post down after he received backlash.

  • Sullivan’s vote to block the release of the Epstein files, taking campaign cash from Epstein associates, and voting to confirm Todd Blanche despite pleas from survivors makes his palling around with alleged sex offenders especially relevant and concerning with one week to go until the midterm election.
