ANCHORAGE, AK – As ACA open enrollment begins, Alaskans shopping for health insurance are about to find their premiums have skyrocketed, rising by an estimated 125% – an average of $1,836 – because Sullivan and Begich refuse to fix the health care crisis they created.
Already burdened with “the most expensive health care in the country,” Alaskans are now being hit even harder thanks to Sullivan and Begich’s agenda, which will drive more families into debt and force some to go without coverage entirely.
“Alaskans are now seeing the devastating impact of Dan Sullivan’s agenda,” said Alaska Democratic Party Chair Eric Croft. “As they log on to enroll for next year’s health insurance, they could find their costs have doubled, increasing by an estimated 125%. That’s unsustainable anywhere, but especially in Alaska, where we already face the highest health care costs in the nation. Dan Sullivan and Nick Begich own these price hikes, and Alaskans will hold them accountable for their reckless, budget-busting agenda in 2026.”
