ANCHORAGE: The Alaska Democratic Party is pleased to announce the hiring of Jenny-Marie Stryker as Executive Director to further our mission of fighting for the betterment of all Alaskans, upholding the core values that define our party, and electing Democrats up and down the ballot statewide.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jenny-Marie as our new Executive Director,” said Chair Eric Croft. “With her extensive experience and passion for empowering Alaskans to engage with democracy and electing Democrats statewide, she will be an excellent addition to our team and will lead us into one of the most important election years ahead of us. We look forward to her bringing her experience and determination to the party to support candidates who are committed to protecting Alaska and defining a better future for all Alaskans.”

Stryker has a history of being a change agent in the Alaska political space and working to elect strong leadership at every level of government. Most recently, she served as the Political Director for The Alaska Center, where she led The Alaska Center’s work to elect leaders that will champion a thriving, just, and sustainable future. This work included running The Alaska Center’s endorsement process, Independent Expenditure, legislative advocacy, and many political partnerships. Stryker also has experience working as a campaign consultant in Alaska in 2018 and 2019, where she worked on over a dozen campaigns up and down the ballot, and briefly as a journalist.

“I am so honored to be stepping into this role at such a critical time for Alaska,” said Executive Director Jenny-Marie Stryker. “Creating a better future for our state is going to take hard work by all of us, and I’m ready to join the team and build on the incredible foundation Lindsay and everyone at the Party have set. I’m excited to get to work electing more Alaska Democrats, ensuring that we create a better economy for all Alaskans. That will be my priority from day one of joining this team.”

Stryker follows in the footsteps of Lindsay Kavanaugh, who served as Executive Director for five years before starting her new role in labor at the Alaska Public Employees Association. During Kavanaugh’s time at the Alaska Democratic Party, she led the party in a new direction, overseeing several successes along the way, including the election of Rep. Mary Peltola to the U.S. Congress, the first Democrat to win the office in 50 years. She also led the party in flipping three seats in the Alaska State House in the 2024 election, securing the bipartisan coalition.

Stryker will officially start her role as the new Executive Director in late June of 2025. Members and staff of the Alaska Democratic Party are energized and ready to get to work for all Alaskans as the 2025 legislative session continues and in preparation for the 2026 election year.
