With Election Day 2 days away, Alaskans are ready to retire Dan Sullivan for his price-hiking agenda as they are being crushed by record prices and a cost of living crisis he’s caused.
“Despite Alaskans repeatedly voicing how hard inflation is squeezing them, Dan Sullivan has continued to vote to jack up costs over and over again,” said Alaska Democratic Party Chair Eric Croft. “Sullivan’s record is clear: he’s an out-of-touch millionaire who has sold out Alaska to special interests. Alaskans will show up on Tuesday to vote him out.”
Dan Sullivan’s price-hiking agenda has spiked costs for Alaskans across the state and put Juneau, Anchorage, and Fairbanks among the top 25 U.S. cities with the highest cost of living, with grocery and healthcare costs more than 20% higher than the rest of the country. Prices across the state are continuing to increase due to Dan Sullivan’s support for the One Big Beautiful Bill, tariffs, and his continued support for the war in Iran.
Reporting from the Anchorage Daily News reveals that “a far greater share of the state’s families and residents are financially struggling than official government statistics suggest” as “people working full time across a wide range of occupations (…) are unable to afford all of their basic needs.”
Because of Dan Sullivan’s price hikes:
Alaska families have had to spend $995 more on housing costs, including rent and mortgage payments.
Americans paid over $300 more for groceries since 2024, with prices now 4% higher. The price of ground beef has gone up almost every month to a record high of over $7 per pound, while coffee grounds are nearly $10 per pound.
Alaskans have spent $132 million more on gas since the beginning of the price-hiking war in Iran, which Sullivan voted for fourteen times, and gas in parts of Alaska have reached $26 a gallon.
