Alaska Democratic Party Statement on Dan Sullivan Trying to Paper Over His Record of Voting to Raise the Cost of Fuel 12 Times, Crushing Alaskans

Dan Sullivan, who has repeatedly voted to spike diesel prices for months while supporting the war in Iran, is now trying to paper over his record in an eleventh-hour stunt as his popularity plummets – but Alaskans won’t forget that Sullivan created this crisis in the first place. In response, Alaska Democratic Party Chair Eric Croft released the following statement:

“If Dan Sullivan thought the cost of diesel is too high, then why did he vote twelve times for the price-hiking war in Iran that is spiking costs and making it harder for everyone to get by? It’s cowardly. These high diesel prices are directly caused by his support for the war. Sullivan only cares about his own self-interest, and Alaskans are paying the price.”

Dan Sullivan has now voted for the price-hiking war a staggering 12 times (3/4/26, 3/18/26, 3/24/26, 4/15/26, 4/22/26, 5/13/26, 5/19/26, 6/16/26, 6/23/26, 6/24/26, 7/23/26, 7/30/26) – causing fuel prices to spike by nearly 50%

MS NOW reported that Sullivan’s patience with high gas prices is notably different from his indignation four years ago” when he repeatedly railed on social media and the Senate floor against Alaska gas prices breaking $5 a gallon. Now, after Dan Sullivan’s continued support for the war in Iran that has sent Alaska gas prices to new record highs, instead of taking action to lower costs, Sullivan has sent fundraising emails begging Alaskans for gas money
