Reporting reveals Alaska Airlines, one of the largest private employers of Alaskans, posted a $76 million loss as fuel costs hit record highs due to Dan Sullivan’s price-hiking agenda that has spiked gas, grocery, and healthcare prices.
“Dan Sullivan has done nothing to address the affordability crisis he’s created for Alaska, and it’s impacting the services and jobs that Alaskans rely on,” said Alaska Democratic Party Chair Eric Croft. “Every business watching their margins shrink and employees navigating sky-high costs can thank Dan Sullivan. He’s cashed in at every turn while leaving Alaskans footing the bill.”
Alaska Airlines reported a loss of $76 million during the second quarter of 2026, citing rising fuel prices as the conflict in Iran sends the price of oil upward again.
Dan Sullivan has now voted for the price-hiking war in Iran a staggering 12 times (3/4/26, 3/18/26, 3/24/26, 4/15/26, 4/22/26, 5/13/26, 5/19/26, 6/16/26, 6/23/26, 6/24/26, 7/23/26, 7/30/26). Despite this, Sullivan has been caught “beg[ging]” for gas money from the very constituents he’s leaving out in the cold, and dismissing Alaskans’ energy costs as mere “externalities.”
