Today marks 100 days of the war in Iran that Dan Sullivan has repeatedly voted to support. The war has skyrocketed gas prices for Alaskans, driving up prices of shipping, goods and airfare in tow. Despite this, Sullivan is asking for “gas money” from the very constituents he’s leaving out in the cold, and dismissing Alaskans’ energy costs as mere “externalities” to his campaign.
“100 days of Self-Serving Sullivan’s price-hiking agenda that is quickly creating a life or death scenario for rural Alaskans who are already struggling to afford essentials and now may not be able to afford to heat their homes next winter,” said Alaska Democratic Party Chair Eric Croft. “He’s voted repeatedly to continue the war that’s raising prices and materially harming Alaskans. It’s shameful and disqualifying.”
Alaska leaders are sounding the alarm on the Dan Sullivan-supported war in Iran, noting the impending “crisis” for rural Alaskans could spike prices out of reach and threaten shortages. According to the report, Alaska leaders have warned of an “energy crisis of extraordinary and unprecedented scale” in rural Alaska — a “life and death” situation driven by the Iran war Sullivan has championed.
