Moving company owner, Greg Wakefield: “Sullivan’s votes are hurting both businesses like mine and individual Alaskans.”.
As gas and fuel prices increase amid the Dan Sullivan-supported war in Iran, Alaskans are still feeling the pain at the pump. Alaskan Greg Wakefield, who owns an Anchorage-based moving company, cited Dan Sullivan’s support for the price-hiking war in Iran and tariffs as a root cause of increasing costs for his company – making it increasingly difficult to balance the books.
“It is nearly impossible for businesses to budget, hire, invest, and plan with any certainty when the cost of fuel supplies and capital products keep changing due to the self-inflicted economic havoc that’s been created in Washington DC. Senator Sullivan’s votes have supported these policies, and they are hurting both businesses like mine and individual Alaskans,” said Greg Wakefield, whose company’s fuel costs are expected to rise 51%. “Before the war, Alaskans were already dealing with higher costs because of tariffs. The impact of rising fuel, general energy costs, and tariffs that have been supported by Senator Sullivan have had a major impact on our functioning and our ability to function profitably.”
“Dan Sullivan owns the skyrocketing prices that are hitting Alaskans uniquely hard,” said Alaska Democratic Party Chair Eric Croft. “He’s voted for the chaotic tariffs and the war in Iran over and over again – and Alaskans can’t afford another six years of a record like that.”
The Sullivan-backed war has skyrocketed gas prices for Alaskans, driving up prices of shipping, goods and airfare in tow. The damage is already done for Western Alaskans, whose fuel was priced in the spring when gas costs were skyrocketing from the war in Iran. Despite this, Sullivan has asked for “gas money” from the very constituents he’s leaving out in the cold, and dismissing Alaskans’ energy costs as mere “externalities” to his campaign.
