REMINDER: On Alaska National Guard Day, Dan Sullivan Voted Against Nearly $50 Billion For National Guard And Supported Efforts That Disrupted Food Services for Service Members at Ft. Greely

As Alaskans celebrate Alaska National Guard Day, they should be reminded of Dan Sullivan’s votes against nearly $50 billion in funding for National Guard pay, equipment, provisions, and benefits and his opposition of more than $70 million to Alaska military bases for mission readiness and quality-of-life improvements for the Alaska National Guard.

Alaska’s Fort Greely, which is responsible for protecting the U.S. from nuclear missile attacks, also nearly suffered “mission failure” due to personnel cuts caused by Sullivan-supported DOGE cuts.

“Fort Greely and the Alaska National Guard are essential to Alaskans’ security and economy, and Dan Sullivan has failed to properly fund the men and women guarding Alaska,” said Alaska Democratic Party Chair Eric Croft. “Instead, Sullivan sides with Lower 48 special interests against Alaskans every single time, to the detriment of our economy and our servicemembers.”

See his failure to fund the Alaska National Guard for yourself:

  • Sullivan voted against the 2023 Consolidated Appropriations Act which included more than $14 billion in pay and benefits for the National Guard.

  • Sullivan opposed $63 million for the Alaska National Guard at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, the headquarters of the Alaska Army National Guard.

  • Sullivan voted against $13 billion in funding for National Guard pay and benefits in 2022.

  • Sullivan voted against more than $11 billion in funding National Guard pay and benefits in 2018.

  • Sullivan voted against more than $11 billion in funding for National Guard pay and benefits in 2015.
