Alaska Democrats Hold Food Drive in Response to Lapse in SNAP Funding
Between soaring grocery and energy prices and the lapse in SNAP funding, so many of our families in Alaska were worried about how they were going to put their next meal on the table, including our military families, families of federal workers, and families who depend on SNAP to put food on the table.
That’s why we put out a call for food donations in Anchorage. And thanks to you all for stepping up in the Alaska way, we were able to collect nearly 300 pounds of food donations for the Food Bank of Alaska.
THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by the office to help out our neighbors in times of uncertainty.
ACA Cuts Threaten Affordable Healthcare in Alaska
Thousands of Alaskans could see their healthcare costs spike if Congress — including Dan Sullivan — fails to protect Affordable Care Act subsidies set to expire at the end of the year.
These subsidies have helped working families, rural communities, and seniors access affordable coverage in one of the most expensive healthcare markets in the country. Cutting them now would push people off insurance and widen health disparities — which is why Democrats are fighting to keep healthcare accessible and affordable for every Alaskan.
Meet our Secretary, Katherine Pfeiffer!
Katherine Pfeiffer was born in Fairbanks and has worked in the political non-profit arena, legislative and ballot measures, as a candidate consultant, manager, and union organizer.
She loves working to promote and elect candidates who reflect Alaska Democrats’ shared values, while getting to know new folks who come through the doors. Working together does not just make the Alaska Democratic Party stronger, but helps neighborhoods, communities, regions, and cultures thrive.
We’re working to strengthen our schools, support our families, and build a more vibrant and sustainable Alaska for everyone.
