A new report confirms what too many Alaskans are already experiencing firsthand: health care is getting more expensive, and decisions in Washington are making it worse.

Because of votes by Dan Sullivan, 27,000 Alaskans are now facing higher health care costs. Thousands more have been priced out of coverage entirely.

The report lays out the consequences clearly.

Sullivan blocked efforts to extend key Affordable Care Act subsidies. When those expired, premiums surged, in some cases quadrupling for middle-income families. Already, more than 3,000 Alaskans have lost their coverage, with more expected to follow as costs continue to rise.

Sullivan also supported cuts of more than $1 trillion to Medicaid, a program that nearly one-third of Alaskans rely on. Health care providers across the state have warned those cuts would be devastating, putting additional strain on hospitals and limiting access to care, especially in rural communities.
