TALKING HEADS: Berna-DEBT Bends Over Backwards for Nat’l Broadcasts, Ignores Alaska Media

Berna-DEBT Wilson loves being on national TV, but couldn’t care less about local media

Berna-DEBT Wilson continues to evade local Alaska media and Alaska voters, instead going on a national media crusade. Recently, she has done softball interviews with Sean Hannity, NewsMax, OANN, and FOX News, all of whom fawned over Berna-DEBT. Contrast that to her dealings with Alaska press:

  • When the Anchorage Daily News asked her for comment on a story exposing her substantial and troubling business record, Wilson “declined multiple interview requests.”

  • When the Alaska Beacon reached out for comment on Berna-DEBT’s policy position on childcare, one of the most important issues facing Alaskans, Wilson and her campaign “declined to comment on her platform on childcare issues after numerous calls, texts and emails over the course of a week.”

  • When Alaska Public Media had a major interview scheduled to discuss policy and what Berna-DEBT would do as governor, she withdrew from the interview at the last minute to pal around with DC elites at a rally and do an interview with Real America’s Voice, a national media outlet, instead.

  • Berna-DEBT declined to answer a single question on a joint Voter Guide published by the Anchorage Daily News, Alaska Public Media, the Alaska Beacon, and KTOO.

Why is Berna-DEBT hiding from local media? Why is she only doing national press when everyday Alaskans want answers?

“Berna-DEBT Wilson is spending more time auditioning to be the next White House Press Secretary than she is with auditioning for the most important job in the state of Alaska,” said Alaska Democratic Party Chair Eric Croft. “Alaskans need a governor who is less concerned about pandering to DC elites and softball national press coverage and more concerned with reaching Alaskans, lowering costs, and getting stuff done.”
