WATCH: Alaskans Slam Desperate Dan Sullivan and Nick Begich for Alaska-Last Agenda Spiking the Cost of Gas, Groceries, and Healthcare

Today in Wasilla, Alaska Democratic Party Chair Eric Croft joined Alaska leaders – from a SEIU caregiver to a retired Air Force Colonel – to slam Dan Sullivan for his self-serving, Alaska-last agenda that is spiking up the cost of gas, groceries, and healthcare while Sullivan gets rich in office.

“We’re here today because we’re going to be voting both Nick Begich and Dan Sullivan out of office,” said Alaska Democratic Party Chair Eric Croft. “They’re self-serving, self-dealing DC politicians who have repeatedly voted to make life harder and more expensive for Alaskans. It’s this record that is going to cost them in November, and made them deeply unpopular in Alaska.”

“I am tired of someone being in office and not upholding the oath he took for Alaskans,” said Betty Redd-Mendez, an SEIU caregiver who traveled to DC three times to meet with Dan Sullivan only to be blown off each time. “[Sullivan] was the deciding vote to cut Medicaid. We do not have other resources, we’re barely getting by with what we have – and now they want to rip Medicaid away from the most vulnerable of Alaskans. We need somebody in DC looking out for us and giving us our voice.”

“As he enriches himself, Sullivan enthusiastically voted for the Big Ugly Bill, calling it ‘transformational’ – how has that transformation worked out for us?” said Dr. Peter Bauer, a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel.  “Sullivan’s voting record has led to spikes in costs across the board. He’s backed devastating cuts that have gutted VA staffing, he’s put all Alaskans in a bind one way or another. He voted to cut our benefits, slash our services, and raise our costs. We want a Senator who will stand up for us in the Senate and that is not Dan Sullivan.”

“I wrote endless letters to Sullivan with non-answer answers, and waited endlessly for him to speak to Alaskans who weren’t happy about what he was doing,” said Sandra Loomis, candidate for Alaska House of Representatives. “Dan Sullivan voted 14 times to support this war in Iran and the tariff war. This has made gas and groceries out of reach for so many Alaskans, just ask your local foodbank. Dan Sullivan stands by and does nothing while the promises made for affordability go down in flames.”
