State Convention 2026: Momentum Is Building
We’re still feeling the energy from this year’s Alaska Democrats State Convention — and it’s hard to put into words just how powerful it was to be together.
From April 17–19 in Cordova, Democrats from across Alaska came together with a shared purpose: to connect, to organize, and to build the path forward for our state.
It was a weekend full of meaningful conversations, new ideas, and real momentum. Organizers, volunteers, candidates, and community leaders all showed up ready to do the work — and it showed.
We heard from inspiring voices, including a special appearance from Sen. Forrest Dunbar, who reminded us what’s possible when we stay focused on delivering for Alaska communities and fighting for a better future.
But what truly made this convention special was the people.
From longtime activists to first-time attendees, the energy in the room was undeniable. Alaskans from every corner of the state came together, shared their experiences, and left more connected and more motivated than ever.
And none of it would have been possible without the incredible volunteers and local team in Cordova who made this event happen. Their hard work and dedication brought this convention to life — and we’re deeply grateful.
We’re proud of what we built together in Cordova.
We’re inspired by the momentum we’re seeing across Alaska.
And most importantly — we’re just getting started.

Defending Voting Rights in Alaska
A major, bipartisan election reform bill — years in the making — was vetoed by Governor Dunleavy last week.
The legislation would have made Alaska’s elections more accessible, transparent, and secure. It included ballot tracking so voters could follow their vote, expanded voter ID options, including Tribal IDs, and improved access for rural communities.
In short, it was about making sure every eligible Alaskan can participate — and trust the process.
But despite broad support, it was blocked.
This comes at a time when voting rights are already under pressure nationwide, with recent court decisions weakening key protections under the Voting Rights Act. Here in Alaska, it’s a reminder that progress isn’t guaranteed — even when there’s bipartisan agreement.
We are now just one vote short of the numbers needed to override vetoes like this.
That’s the difference between stalled progress and real change.
If we want to protect access to the ballot and keep building a stronger, more inclusive democracy, we have to keep showing up — and keep building the majorities that can get it done.
Together, Alaska Democrats can win the U.S. Senate and Governorship seats – AND keep control of our Senate in 2026.
But to do this, we cannot sit on the sidelines. With your support, we can continue to stay in the fight, build the strongest Party possible, and help elect leaders who will put people first. Your contribution will help us win statewide in 2026.
