Observing the Vote. Protecting every ballot.
**Help protect the vote by serving as trained eyes and ears at polling locations.
** Poll Watchers play an important role in the Alaska Democrats’ 2026 Voter Access Program. As trained observers, Poll Watchers help us monitor voting locations, report problems quickly, and support a fair process where every eligible Alaskan can cast a ballot that counts.
During this training, we’ll cover:
✅ **What Poll Watchers do** Learn the role Poll Watchers play in observing election operations, spotting potential voter access issues, and reporting what they see to the Voter Access Team.
✅ **What Poll Watchers can and cannot do** We’ll review the rules, expectations, and boundaries for serving as a Poll Watcher so you can be effective, professional, and compliant.
✅ **What to look for at polling locations** Learn how to identify common issues, including long lines, voter confusion, accessibility concerns, equipment problems, and situations where voters may need additional support.
✅ **How to report issues quickly and accurately** We’ll walk through how to document what you observe, when to escalate concerns, and how your reports help the campaign respond in real time.
✅ **How to be a calm, helpful presence** Poll Watchers are there to observe, not interfere. We’ll cover how to stay focused, respectful, and steady in a high-stakes environment. No prior election experience is required — just a commitment to protecting voter access and helping ensure a smooth voting process.
**Join us and help make sure every eligible Alaskan can cast a ballot that counts in 2026.**
