WATCH: Alaskans Call Out Desperate Dan Sullivan for Calling Up Lower 48 Ally from Ohio, J.D. Vance

Today in Fairbanks, Alaska leaders slammed Dan Sullivan for his self-serving, Alaska-last agenda, while across town Sullivan was calling up his Lower 48 fellow Ohioan – J.D. Vance – to come bail him out.

“Sullivan sent word to his home state of Ohio to get another Ohio politician to fly in,”said Alaska Democratic Party Chair Eric Croft. “There is something inherently wrong with our U.S. Senator having no answers to Alaskans’ questions, and having to punt to outside sources to do that. I think it’s wimpy, and I think that’s why Alaskans are going to vote Dan Sullivan out in a month.”

“Senator Sullivan has repeatedly backed policies and wars that trigger prolonged fuel prices,” said Laura Capelle, President of the National Education Association of Alaska. “Every time fuel prices surge, it hits rural Alaska hard. It drains school district transportation and school budgets, it makes a gallon of milk, a dozen eggs, or new winter boots for our kids even more unaffordable. It is time to hold U.S. Senator Dan Sullivan accountable for his votes, our students deserve better.”

“I believe Alaska deserves a senator who puts the interests of Alaskans and Alaska workers first,” said Tim Brennan, IBEW Local 1547 Assistant Business Manager.  “I see the members of the IBEW suffer the consequences of this firsthand. Our members are dealing with the rising costs of simply living here in the Interior of Alaska. Working families of the Interior must make difficult choices. Do I put money away for my kids’ education? Or do I use it to keep the heat on? These aren’t abstract numbers, these are the real decisions being made by Alaska families.”

“We’re paying record high costs here in Fairbanks for fuel, for food, for housing,” said Alaska Interior Democrats Chair Stuart Relay. “Why would that matter to Senator Sullivan who has tripled his net worth since being elected to the U.S. Senate and has a record of supporting his stock portfolio over Alaskans? It’s even more troubling that Senator Sullivan has accepted money from Epstein associates. It’s harmful and disrespectful to survivors. We need to trust our elected officials in DC.”
