Intern Positions

Qualifications: A commitment to the goals and ideals of the Democratic Party is a prerequisite. The ideal candidate will be well organized, responsible, have good oral and written communication skills, and be able to work well with others in a fast-paced environment. Computer literacy required; graphic design skills a plus.

Responsibilities: Interns will work at least 4 hours a day, 3 days a week. Hours are flexible and can be tailored to the student's schedule. Transportation is not provided to the work site. By arrangement with a school, academic credit may be available.

All interns will perform general office duties, including answering phones, assisting the public, working with volunteers, and data entry.

In addition, interns will be assigned to a specific area:

Communications – Work with the Communications Director to get the Democratic message out to the public through the news media, internet, blast email, direct mail, radio, TV, phones, forums, and other means, as well as doing issue research.

Data Enhancement & Field – Work with the Data Project Director to build and expand the ADP's volunteer base, collect data to update the ADP database, and manage events with volunteers. Work will include campaign-related activities and interacting with a diverse group of people in person and over the phone and/or extensive computer and database work.

Finance – Work with the Development Director to research campaign finance reports, build prospective donor lists, and assist with fundraising activities, events, and phone banks.

Technology/Computers – Under supervision of the Technology Director, update and maintain the voter database; assist campaigns and volunteers in using the database; create graphics and other computer-generated materials to communicate message and assist ADP staff.
