We believe a comprehensive, fully funded and equitable public education system, which reflects the diverse cultures and ways of life of the people of Alaska, is critical to quality of life and a healthy economy.

This system must include programs to prepare young children for school, promote quality public education for all of Alaska's children, and promote life-long educational opportunities through development of vocational training and post-secondary curriculums with a progressive university system that includes graduate and research programs. Alaska Democrats also support full funding for Alaska's educational programs. These programs must also be supported by comprehensive library, museum, sports, arts, humanities, and public broadcasting programs.
